Digital TV
Deliver your content to the widest audience - with Morello Content Management System (CMS)
Not so long ago, it was hard to imagine that people would want to have online access to information via their television sets, but in the UK alone, the Government estimates that 70% of households now have access to Digital TV and the figure is increasing. Analogue aerials are being steadily phased out and the planned date for switchover to digital transmission is set to commence in 2008. *
Digital TV offers businesses a further opportunity to deliver messages
straight into homes across the country, creating a new marketing channel
that will reach millions of potential customers. The straightforward
way that Morello deals with the storage and re-use of content means that
sending information across the airwaves can be a reality for your business
now.
Not all Digital TV operators work the same way. Having multiple operators
such as Sky, NTL/Telewest and Freeview means that sharing content across
all platforms can be challenging. Mediasurface can help.
Browser type applications
Both Sky and NTL use browser type applications. Mediasurface works with the
respective technologies to deliver WTVML or HTML/Javascript to render pages
and then serve them. For the Sky platform, we help you even further by
using ActiveX plug-ins with Morello to create and preview pages exactly as
they will appear on the Sky set top box.
MHEG
The Freeview platform uses Multimedia and Hypermedia information
coding Expert Group (MHEG-5) for their services. Morello gives you the
capability to create the templates that will generate the MHEG code for
you.
Emerging technology
Digital TV is still an emerging technology, and standards will change and
improve. We have the knowledge to help you build a solution that matches
your technical environment and standards.
We'll help you explore with you the possibilities and opportunities that
are relevant to you, and enable you to start delivering your content
direct into people's homes.
